Pediatric Behavioral Health Consult Line Celebrates 2,000 Calls

VHAN’s Pediatric Behavioral Health Consult Line is a vital benefit for pediatric providers, connecting practices to licensed clinical social workers who help customize patient care plans, navigate community resources and provide guidance on screening tools. VHAN social workers can also connect pediatricians with child and adolescent psychiatrists if medication consultations are needed. Since launching the consult line in 2018, VHAN social workers have fielded more than 2,000 calls—an impressive milestone. Members can visit the VHAN Hub Pediatrics page to learn how to access the consult line.

Propelled by the success of the pediatric line, this summer VHAN plans to launch an Adult Behavioral Health Consult Line with Shannon Brown, LCSW, at the helm. Brown will manage the line Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. CT. Similar to the pediatric line, adult care providers can call for real-time consultations on developing a behavioral health care plan, help with safety planning, navigating strategic resources and referrals, and more. Stay tuned for more details on the new consult line.
